Description :

Appelant bien conservé avec tête en col de cygne. Le corps arrondi est façonné dans une planche d'environ 5,5 cm d'épaisseur. Le bout des ailes forment une protuberence et la poitrine est abaissée. La tête inclinée vers l'arrière décrit une longue courbe, maintenue de manière flexible par une bande élastique fixée par deux clous en fer sur le dessous avant de l’appelant, ce qui permet de l’orienter dans différentes positions. Au milieu du corps, on aperçoit un trou traversant, dans lequel se logeait probablement une tige de fer qui permettait de fixer le canard dans une zone marécageuse. La tête et le corps sont peints en noir. Avec l’usage et le temps, les pores du bois se sont remplis de poussière grisant ainsi la couleur noire du corps. Les ailes et le dessous de la queue sont peints en blancs. Le bec est peint en rose et la caroncule frontale en rouge vif, ainsi que les yeux. Sur le dessous, il n'y a pas de lest pour stabiliser la flottaison de l’appelant.

Well preserved decoy with swan neck head. The rounded body is shaped into a board approximately 5.5 cm thick. The tips of the wings form a protrusion and the chest is lowered. The head tilted back describes a long curve, held in a flexible way by an elastic band fixed by two iron nails on the front underside of the appellant, which allows it to be oriented in different positions. In the middle of the body, we can see a through hole, in which was probably lodged an iron rod which allowed to fix the duck in a marshy area. The head and body are painted black. With use and time, the pores of the wood have filled with dust, making the body black color. The wings and the underside of the tail are painted white. The bill is painted pink and the frontal caruncle is bright red, as are the eyes. On the underside, there is no ballast to stabilize the appellant's waterline.
