CANARD (CIBLE)
Cet appelant a été transformé pour servir de cible d'entrainement au tir. Appelant de type “sabot” en bois massif, sur la face gauche duquel est clouée une feuille de métal. La tôle est peinte d’un brun rougeâtre et embossée de nombreux impacts de plombs. Une partie de la tôle est perforée et les billes de plomb sont toujours logées dans les trous d'impacts. La tête peinte en rouge est reliée au corps par une charnière. Le canard reposait sur une tige longue et flexible, et par son poids provoquait un mouvement de balancier à la cible. Si un tir touchait le corps, le tireur pouvait à l’aide d’une cordelette, redresser la tête à distance sans avoir à se déplacer.

DUCK TARGET
This decoy has been converted to serve as a target practice target. Decoy of the “hoof” type in solid wood, on the left side of which is nailed a sheet of metal. The sheet metal is painted a reddish brown and embossed with numerous lead impacts. Part of the sheet is perforated and the lead balls are still housed in the impact holes. The red painted head is connected to the body by a hinge. The duck rested on a long, flexible rod, and by its weight caused a pendulum motion at the target. If a shot hit the body, the shooter could, using a cord, raise his head from a distance without having to move.
